Shard Social, what’s in a name?

Shard Social, creative social media for the wedding industry.

Hello lovelies, thanks for taking the time to join me here.

I thought I would give you a little insight to the re-brand, share my logic.

Many of you will know that I used to make wedding dresses for a living and Emma Hunt London was the company name. When I decided to stop designing dresses and move on to a new chapter in my life, I didn’t give the name any thought, I simply continued to use the same name.

Four years down the line and no longer living in London, I started to feel that my social media company needed a more suitable name, that reflected what I do.

Shard is my married name, so Shard Social seemed appropriate. Its short sharp and to the point and there is nothing left to the imagination.

It took me a while to get the logo right but with some help and guidance from a few of my creative friends we got there in the end.

Elegant simplicity has been my design ethos for years and this is seen here in my new logo.

I have been a lover of the handwritten look for many years, partly I think as my own writing is quite artistic, although my late husband would have said it was illegible, I disagree.

I searched online for a suitable artistic font that gave the look and feel I was after but that was still visually legible and had impact.

It’s quite the done thing now to have a logo with two different fonts and although I am not one for following the crowd I did feel it was the look I was after and whilst being quite contemporary, I’m hoping it will age well too.

I’m making it sound like a bottle of wine now but that’s no bad thing I suppose.

Do feel free to leave your thoughts, would love to hear from you.

In the meantime, to all my wonderful friends in the wedding industry, I’m sending my love and big virtual hugs and really hope to see you.

Lets get the show back on the road and do let me know if I can support you in any way.

You do you – I’ll do the rest.
